Vincent's. Profile

Vincent Constantine Smith was born in  Jamaica , to Mr. and Mrs. H.  G.  Smith.  The third of six children, (five boys and one girl) Vincent grew up in the hustle and bustle of Kingston , Jamaica .   Vincent attended Roussea Primary School , from 1968 to 1974.   He moved on to Excelsior High where he played soccer, cricket, volleyball and table tennis.

His love and interest for music was always evident.   As far back as primary school he wanted to sing professionally.   Vincent tried out for the school choir, but was told he couldn’t sing.  He has fond memories of performing at little talent shows that his "revival church" hosted.    Music, especially the sound of pulsating reggae was a magnet for him.  As early as twelve, he went to the “forbidden club” between Maxfield Avenue and Little Q Road called "Queen of C."   Taking charge of the microphone and repeating the rhymes of U-Roy, Delinger and Big Youth, was the joy and delight of his life.  By the time he was in high school, he became a part of the DJ duo, "Ranking Forggy and Dirty Harry".  On the weekends, he followed the parties or the dances with hopes of getting that special opportunity to use the microphone..

In 1980, Vincent moved from Maxfield Avenue to Red Hills Road ( Valentine Gardens ).  He was invited one day to a small Church on Red Hill Road , Emmanuel Gospel Assembly, where the Lord made a major impact on his life.  His life and his destiny would never be the same.  The church had a vibrant youth group. They offered volley ball at the national level; soccer; table tennis and netball. Things would never be the same.

In 1983, Vincent migrated to the USA .   The following year, he attended the College of New Rochelle of New Resources. He then transferred to Nyack Christian College  in Nyack , NY .   He was an Associate Pastor and Worship Leader at Living Word Ministries in Yonkers , NY  where he met and married Andrea Jones.   In 1998, Vincent and Andrea relocated to Orange County , to work with a church in that area.   Vincent is now an avid song-writer and lyricists.   He recorded a CD, produced by Noel Brownie, in Jamaica ; however, the CD is not yet released. , In the meantime, Vincent is busy with church and raising a family.
