Dexter McIntyre, aka Dexie
B is from Kingston, Jamaica and has been in radio broadcasting since
1981. He is the host of Reggae Spectrum aired every Saturday from 6 pm to
9 pm on WVKR FM in Poughkeepsie, New York. Dexie has a Masters Degree in
Engineering/Radio Communication, System Science and a FCC restricted
radiotelephone operator permit.
Apart from being a radio
personality, Dexie is very knowledgeable in the regular station equipment
maintenance, transmitter calibration and upgrade per FCC requirement.
Kingsley "Dread" Hines and Tom "Chief Engineer" Siglin of
WHRW and WUCI radio have been the driving force behind Dexie B's success in
Radio and Engineering.
On the air, Dexie maintains a
tight format and always try to find ways of improving his program. Moving to the
Hudson Valley in 1993, Dexie B. has put the Q , R and M in Quality Radio and
Music. Suffice to say, his favorite line "And the beat goes on" shows
he is still not finished.
