Christine
Williams has been a Dutchess County resident since 1997. She joined
the WVKR broadcasting family in 2007. She
was introduced to Kool Meditations by Dexie B., who created the program.
She’s now one of two co-hosts on the program which airs every other
Sunday from 3-6 PM on WVKR 91.3 FM in Poughkeepsie, New York. She
may also be heard some weekday morning on WHVW.
Kool
Meditations is promoted as a Gospel show which sometimes plays Contemporary and
R&B music. The program also
highlights church and community events with occasional interviews.
Listeners can look forward to a variety of Gospel music including reggae
gospel, country gospel, christian pop and traditional gospel.
In
the end the message is clear and meditative.
Besides
being a radio personality, Christine has a Paralegal degree, is an entrepreneur,
an elder, and the Chairperson of Church & Society in her church.
She’s also very passionate about doing mission to the less fortunate.
Her missions include “Christmas in August” which is an annual event
that provides free back to school supplies to children in the community.
Some of her other missions through the church include Dutchess Outreach,
Catherine Street Community Center, Hillcrest Shelter, The Living Room, A.H.O.R.A,
The Lunch Box, and Heifer International which provides animals to families in
impoverished countries. The families
are then trained to use the animals in ways that will enrich their lives.
These are just some of the missions in which Christine is involved.
Ms. Williams looks forward to bringing the same passion to Kool
Meditations.
